93-year-old driver charged in 3-vehicle crash on Route 57

Three people were hurt in the collision Friday afternoon at Strykers Road.

A 93-year-old woman faces a charge of careless driving after allegedly causing a three-vehicle crash Friday that injured herself and two others.

Louise E. Krickeberg, of the 300 block of Heckman Street in Phillipsburg, failed to yield to oncoming traffic at the intersection of Route 57 and Stryker Road, according to Lopatcong Township police.

Krickeberg's silver PT Cruiser was hit in the passenger side by a blue Dodge Stratus driven by Barbara White, 55, of the 1300 block of Eagles Nest Court in Greenwich Township, police said. White's car also hit a silver Toyota Scion driven by 20-year-old Bryant Lee, of the 700 block of Jackson Road in Greenwich, police report.

White's Status sustained significant front-end damage, and Krickeberg's Cruiser ended up on the island in the intersection.

Krickeberg, White and White's passenger, 34-year-old Derrick Briggs, of the same address in Greenwich, were taken to St. Luke's Hospital in Phillipsburg, police said. The extent of their injuries were not disclosed.

The crash was reported at 2:15 p.m. and cleared by 3 p.m.
