A member of the senior Horse Science team will move on to the national competition.
The Warren County 4-H Horse Science team recently competed at the state 4-H Horse Bowl Competition, in Egg Harbor City.
The competition a Jeopardy style game with all answers relating to horses.
Sixteen senior level teams (ninth to 13th grade) and 14 junior level teams (fourth to eighth grade) competed.
The Warren County junior team placed tenth and the senior team placed first. Two senior team members place as high individuals: Pier Semanchik placed second and Maddie Crisp placed ninth. Maddie has also qualified to compete on the state 4-H Horse Bowl team, representing New Jersey this November at the Eastern National 4-H Horse Round-Up. Pier competed on the national level in 2014, and thus was not eligible to compete again.
Senior member Ivana Wadele was placed on a "mixed" team (comprised of several different counties) and her team placed seventh.
Senior team members include Brittany Smith, Pier Semanchik, Rachel Vence, Maddie Crisp and Ivana Wadele.
Junior team members are Rhiannon Bernard, Colleen Cowell, Olivia Santini and Eva Commisso.
Coaches are Tracy Smith, Lynda Matthews and Anna Matthews.
