It wasn't immediately clear how long the body was below the bridge that caries vehicles into Phillipsburg Commerce Park.
UPDATE: Death on tracks doesn't appear criminal, prosecutor says
A body was found about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday along railroad tracks that run under the bridge to Phillipsburg Commerce Park in Lopatcong Township.
A police officer guarding the entrance near Route 22 wouldn't confirm that someone was discovered dead nearby.
The body appeared to be that of a man and was lying nearly perpendicular to the tracks in the gully that runs across the north end of the former Ingersoll Rand plant.
The body was spotted by a passerby, according to initial emergency reports, but it wasn't immediately clear how long it was there.
The Warren County Prosecutor's Office and the Morris County medical examiner were advised of the death. The cause and manner of the death will be determined by the medical examiner.
