Connor Barbaro, a Belvidere High School junior, died Friday in an ATV accident.
The funeral for a 16-year-old who died in an ATV accident will be held Thursday at Belvidere High School.
Connor Barbaro, a popular student-athlete who was a junior at the high school, died Friday after a crash in White Township.
He played soccer and basketball for Belvidere.
The crash happened Friday night after he drove an ATV onto Route 46 and was hit by a pickup truck, according to New Jersey State Police. He was not wearing a helmet and suffered what the Lehigh County Coroner said were severe head injuries.
The funeral is set for 11 a.m. Thursday in the high school gymnasium at 809 Oxford St. in Belvidere.
Calling hours will be 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at MacFadden Funeral Home, 325 Hardwick St., Belvidere. People may also call from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at the high school gym.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions be made to the Belvidere High School Athletic Department, 809 Oxford St. Belvidere, NJ 07823, according to his obituary.
Connor is the son of Robert and Christina Barbaro, of White Township.
His death prompted a number of gestures in his memory in the Belvidere area. An impromptu memorial was established at the crash site and schoolmates wore white Monday in his honor.

Grief counselors were at the high school over the weekend and Monday.
Connor played soccer for the Warren United Strikers, the Independence Tornadoes and the West Jersey Soccer Club, according to his obituary. He was on Belvidere High's varsity soccer and basketball teams.
Two weeks ago, he scored a career-high 20 points in a basketball game against Hackettstown, the same night the high school dedicated its gymnasium to a former coach and superintendent.
