A dispute outside the store allegedly preceded the 26-year-old's arrest.
A 26-year-old Washington man is accused of threatening another's life at knifepoint during a fight at a borough convenience store.
Washington Township police, who cover the borough, were called shortly before 10 p.m. Monday to the QuickChek at 30 Belvidere Ave. for a reported dispute, Lt. John Kaufmann said.
During the fight, Ronald K. Barnes Jr., of the first block of East Washington Avenue, allegedly held a knife up to another man and threatened to kill him. Barnes also choked the man and at one point chased him down the street, according to a criminal complaint filed in state Superior Court in Belvidere.
Police did not say what the fight was about.
Fugitives of the Week: March 5
Barnes is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, making terroristic threats, causing a public nuisance, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
He was sent to the Warren County jail in lieu of $7,500 bail. A condition on the bail requires Barnes to have no contact with the victim.
