UPDATE: Phillipsburg man arrested in Oxycodone distribution probe
Phillipsburg police just before dawn on Monday took a man into custody in an apartment in the 300 block of South Main Street.
Assisted by Warren County's tactical team, they entered the second-floor residence at 378 S. Main and continued their search well into the morning. A nearby maroon Jeep Grand Cherokee with a handicapped placard was also searched.
Traffic was briefly diverted on South Main as police removed a gate and went up a flight of exterior stairs to the apartment. A K9 was later brought in to join the search.
Police Chief James Faulborn, who was initially on the scene, later declined to provide details until he was able to confirm more information.
Either he or the Warren County Prosecutor's Office likely will release information later in the day.
