The incident began with a traffic stop, Hackettstown police say.
A Warren County man who gave a false name to an officer was tripped up by a clever cop, Hackettstown police said.
A traffic stop for a moving violation at 9:43 p.m. Wednesday on Route 604 led to the officer to ask for identification from the driver and passenger, police said.

The passenger said he was Christopher J. Cassidy, but further investigation determined he was Thomas Rusin, 24, of the Port Murray section of Mansfield Township, police said.
"The officer then called out the name 'Tom' and Chris answered the officer by saying 'what?' police said.
Rusin was trying to conceal a wanted person warrant out of the Hunterdon County Sheriff's Department involving illegal use of credit cards, police said.
Hackettstown police charged Rusin with providing false information to law enforcement, the news release said. He will face a court appearance, police said.
He was then sent to Warren County jail due to the warrant and will eventually be transferred to Somerset County Jail, police said.
