JCP&L extended the offer to customers still without power Monday, including thousands in Hunterdon County.

JCP&L announced the availability of free water and ice to customers who remained without power Monday due to high winds over the weekend.

The FirstEnergy company about 4:45 p.m. Monday said it had 3,654 customers without power across its New Jersey territory, 2,338 of which were in Hunterdon County. Another 87 were in Warren County.

The utility estimated restoration times between 5:30 and 11:30 p.m. Monday, with an 8 a.m. Tuesday restoration estimate for nine customers in Union Township and seven customers in Oxford Township.

JCP&L said free water and ice would be available at ShopRite in Clinton, Flemington, Greenwich Township, Mansfield Township and Washington Township and at Kings in Whitehouse Station, Hunterdon County.

Power problems persist after high winds

FirstEnergy's Met-Ed reported 1,646 customers still out late Monday afternoon in its Pennsylvania territory. These included a handful of outages remaining about 4:50 p.m. in Easton, Wilson Borough and Palmer and Upper Mount Bethel townships in Northampton County and zero in Lehigh County.

PPL Electric Utilities reported late Monday afternoon 1,178 outages system-wide, but none in Lehigh or Northampton counties.

The top gust recorded Sunday in the region was 60 mph at 10:13 a.m. at Pocono Mountains Municipal Airport, the National Weather Service said. The top gust at Lehigh Valley International Airport was 50 mph at 5:30 a.m.

The National Weather Service at Mount Holly, New Jersey, forecast Monday's rains to end Monday night from west to east across its region, through about 10 p.m. Nighttime lows into Tuesday morning are forecast around 24 at Lehigh Valley International Airport.

Tuesday is forecast as sunny with a high near 41 at the airport, with a nighttime low of about 24 heading into Wednesday.
