An accused bandit is facing theft charges after stealing wallets from Hackettstown Public Library patrons.
Itzel Llers-Pineda, 23, of Hackettstown, is charged with two counts of theft after she was seen on library video surveillance footage allegedly taking patrons' wallets.
A female patron at 9:49 a.m. Monday reported to a library employee that her wallet was taken from the library at 110 Church St.
Investigators reviewed the library's video surveillance footage and saw Llers-Pineda at 10:42 a.m. on March 29 take money out of a wallet. She also was seen at noon March 31 stealing from another patron and discarding the victim's wallet in another section of the building, according to police.
