Gifted academically and a three-sport athlete at Warren Hills, Murray's death has led to an outpouring of community support for his family.

An only child, he is survived by his parents Thomas and Kelly Murray.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Evan Murray Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home, 234 W. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882.

Funeral director Richard Maguire said details of the scholarship fund to be established at the high school have yet to be worked out.

A GoFundMe account launched to help the family with anything they need had raised $35,000 in just over 24 hours.
