Several area students are inducted into honor societies at colleges and universities.
Jake Hohmann, son of John Hohmann and Diana Mendez-Hohmann of Knowlton Township received an appointment to the Class of 2020 at the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Jake will graduate from North Warren Regional High School. He was nominated by Sen. Robert Menendez.

Gabrielle Messina, of Oxford, earned the Sr. Alodia Award from the science and mathematics department; Briana Pearson, of Upper Mount Bethel Township earned the Elaine Schalck Outstanding Lab Assistant Award from the science and mathematics department; James Bertolotti, of Bethlehem, earned the Excellence in Sport Management from the business department; Victoria Vidumsky, of Bethlehem, earned the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy Academic Excellence Award from the occupational therapy department; Briana Pearson, of Upper Mount Bethel Township, earned the Graduation Award for Excellence in Service from the Holleran Center for Community Engagement; and Gabriella Messina, of Oxford, earned the O'Pake Undergraduate Leadership Award from the O'Pake Institute for Ethics, Leadership and Public Service.

Emily Itkor, of Hackettstown, was recently inducted into Kappa Delta Pi at Lebanon Valley College. Itkor, is a graduate of Hackettstown High School.

Holly Mitman of Easton, was recently inducted into Phi Sigma Iota at Lebanon Valley College. She is a Nazareth Area High School graduate.

Kutztown University special education senior Jessica Kolvites, of Hellertown, was selected by the Division on Visual Impairments and Deafblindness to receive the Virginia M. Sowell Student of the Year Award. Kolvites received the award at the national conference April 14 in St. Louis, Mo.

Kutztown University inducted the following new members into the Alpha Sigma Lambda honor society: Rosa Collado, Christopher Erthal and Cynthia Wright, of Bethlehem; Amanda Dentino, of Upper Milford Township; Samantha Donohue, of Whitehall; Jeffrey Heminitz and Sarah Otto, of Upper Macungie Township; and Patricia LeMaster, of Macungie.
In addition, the following area residents were inducted into the Kutztown Tau Chapter of Chi Sigma Alpha Student Affairs Honor Society International: Caitlin Bach and Joseph Schwartz, of Allentown; Jade Eggleston, of Macungie; Caroline Febbo, of Bethlehem; andTiffany Gerlach and Patrick Manento, of Easton.
Also, Tasha Harwick, of Whitehall, Robert Leiss, of Bethlehem, and Courtney Pintabone, of Nazareth, were inducted into Gamma Sigma Alpha, a national honor society for students who are members of a social Greek organization and have at least a 3.5 GPA in their junior or senior year.

Area residents and King's College, Wilkes-Barre, students Alexandra Evangelista, Katherine Fitch, Sean Krutsick and Anthony Trainello were recently inducted into the college's chapters of various honor societies.
Evangelista, a resident of Hellertown, was inducted into Delta Epsilon Sigma honor society, the Institute of Management Accountants accounting honor society, Beta Gamma Sigma the business national honor society, Omicron Delta Epsilon economics honor society and The Aquinas Society, the College's honor society. She is a daughter of Michael and Theresa Evangelista.
Fitch, of Bethlehem, was inducted into the Institute of Management Accountants accounting honor society. She is the daughter of Thomas and Beth Fitch.
Krutsick, Bethlehem, was inducted into Delta Epsilon Sigma honor society, the national honor society of colleges and universities with a Catholic tradition. He is also a member of Psi Epsilon chapter of the Lambda Pi Eta mass communications honors society. He is the son of Joe and Sharon Krutsick.
Trainello, Nazareth, was inducted into Epsilon Chi Omicron, an international business honor society and the Mu Kappa Tau national marketing honor society. He is the son of Jimmy and Roseanne Trainello.
Keith Wanamaker, of Washington, N.J., was recently inducted into the King's College chapter of Delta Epsilon Sigma honor society. He is the son of Keith and Joanne Wanamaker.
