Phillipsburg 6, Warren Hills 0 – Rapid Recap 


Phillipsburg softball team posted a 6-0 home win over Warren Hills on Thursday at the Phillipsburg Athletic Complex.



Turning point: The Stateliners broke a scoreless tie in the third inning when senior left fielder Kait Wambold scored on a wild pitch after knocking the ball loose from Warren Hills catcher Sam Domzalski

Top performers: On senior day, several seniors stepped up for the Stateliners. Senior pitcher Brooke Moyle threw a two-hitter and struck out nine. She also reached base twice. Wambold walked twice and scored a pair of runs. Senior shortstop Sarah Stiehler had two hits, including an RBI single in the fourth inning. Senior catcher Lizzie Pace reached base three times. Senior first baseman Michelle Stagaard reached base twice and had an RBI. Tara Widitz, senior designated player, had a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning. Center fielder Meghan LeMar drove in a run in the fifth inning. 


What it means: The Stateliners improved to 11-7 on the season and bounced back from tough losses to Delaware Valley and Montgomery earlier this week. They have a rematch at Warren Hills on Monday. The Blue Streaks fell to 10-6 on the season and saw their two-game winning streak snapped. They play at Montgomery on Friday.
