Hundreds are expected to pay respects to Murray, 17, who died after being hurt in a varsity football game Friday night.

Mourners began to arrive Wednesday morning at the viewing for Warren Hills Regional High School quarterback Evan Murray.

Dozens of police officers were stationed in the area to direct the hundreds and perhaps thousands expected to pay respects during a scheduled nine-hour visitation at Faith Discovery Church in Washington Township, Warren County.

Murray, Warren Hills' starting quarterback, died after being hurt in a varsity football game Friday night at the Blue Streaks' home field. He was 17.

The viewing is scheduled from noon to 9 p.m., with a funeral set for 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.

The church is about a mile or so from the high school, where Murray was an honor student and standout athlete who played football, baseball and basketball. Classmates have payed homage to him in memorials created at the stadium and in his usual parking spot.

A medical examiner found Murray died from internal bleeding caused by a lacerated spleen suffered in Friday's game.
