Heart of a Legend is raising money for a computer lab at Third Street Alliance in Easton.
Larry Holmes isn't much of a golfer.
But he'll be on the course next week for the Heart of a Legend 2nd annual celebrity golf outing.
Heart of a Legend is the nonprofit group that last December completed the statue memorializing the former heavyweight boxing champion at Scott Park in Easton.
It also has organized community events and is involved in several fundraisers, working now to raise money for a computer lab at Third Street Alliance for Women and Children, said Nina Alexander, Holmes' niece and golf outing organizer.

The $125-per-person outing will be held Monday, July 11, at Green Pond Country Club and will be preceded on Sunday, July 10, with a celebrity meet-and-greet from noon to 3 p.m. at Holmes' Palmer Township home.
Those who wish to skip the golfing but attend the function at Holmes' residence can do so for a $25 donation at the door at 896 Sheridan Drive.
From the projects to boxing immortality
Scheduled to attend Sunday and Monday are former fighters Gerry Cooney, Randall "Tex" Cobb, Earnie Shavers and Vinny Paz, formerly Vinny Pazienza.
Others such as former Heisman Trophy winner George Rogers, Super Bowl MVP O.J. Anderson and former track and field champion Joetta Clark Diggs also are lined up, along with 20 or so others.
Holmes, 66, said he's looking forward to the outing, which will feature more than 100 golfers competing in a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Monday.
"It's always great to get together with these guys, who have always given me a lot of support," he said.
This time last year, the first outing was instrumental in raising money to finish the 9-feet-tall statue that was dedicated Dec. 13.
Holmes said he's delighted that Heart of a Legend, founded by his wife Diane, decided to get involved in other projects now that the bronze statue is up.
"It's important to give back and I can't tell you enough about all the work they've put in," he said.
Besides the Third Street Alliance work, money raised will also be used at the statue site for lighting, landscaping and a bench, Alexander said. Holmes said brick pavers that helped fund the site also still need to be installed.
Alexander said Heart of a Legend meets regularly throughout the year.
"Once we started it we really wanted to keep it going because we want to help the community in the name of Larry Holmes," she said.
5 greatest moments in Holmes' career
The golf outing includes breakfast and a post-golf banquet. Last year's meet-and-greet at Holmes' home was a hit and enabled folks to get photos and signed memorabilia with Holmes' celebrity friends from the sports world, she said.
"If you're not a golfer, you can come out to Larry's house and socialize with all these stars," Alexander said. "It's a casual atmosphere, people sitting around and talking and telling stories of their playing days, and enjoying the time out."
People can register for the outing at the Heart of a Legend website. You can find more information there or by calling 610-427-1927.
