The chain has apologized for the cyberattacks, which gave hackers access to customers' payment card information.

Wendy's on Thursday identified the locations of its franchises where customers' payment card information may have been compromised in two cyberattacks.

Ten Wendy's restaurants call the Lehigh Valley home but none of them showed up on the chain's list of restaurants affected by the attack.

However, several franchises to the north of the Valley in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area and to the south in the Philadelphia suburbs were affected.

In Warren County, the Wendy's in Hackettstown also was on the list. Payment card purchases made between Dec. 2, 2015, and June 8 at the 219 Mountain Ave. franchise were compromised.

The chain says in a news release that it first reported unusual payment card activity at some of its restaurants in February. In May, the malware found to be used in that cyberattack had been disabled. But on June 9, the company announced it had detected and disabled additional malware in point-of-sales systems.

The hackers behind the cyberattack were able to obtain cardholder names, credit or debit card numbers, expiration dates, cardholder verification values and service codes prior to the malware being disabled, according to an FAQ page Wendy's posted on its website.

Wendy's is offering one year of complimentary fraud consultation and identity restoration services to all customers who used a payment card at any potentially impacted franchisee locations during the affected dates for both cyberattacks, the FAQ says.

Additional information on obtaining the services and the can be found on Wendy's website or by calling (866)-779-0485 between 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding major holidays.

"We sincerely apologize to anyone who has been inconvenienced as a result of these highly sophisticated, criminal cyberattacks," Wendy's CEO and President Todd Penegor says in a statement.
