A 43-year-old Phillipsburg man is charged with aggravated assault after allegedly attacking another man with a picket fence post.
Jose Rodriguez, of the first block of Brainard Street, hit the victim in the head with the piece of wood on Sunday, according to a criminal complaint by town police filed in state Superior Court in Belvidere.
The complaint did not detail the timing of the incident or what preceded it.
Rodriguez was charged with aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon, and his bail was set at $15,000 with a 10 percent option, according to court documents.
Records indicate he had posted bail. Rodriguez's number is not listed and it was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.
