The credit cards apparently looked like theirs, but the money wasn't.
Two New York City men were charged this week with fraudulently using credit cards at the Phillipsburg Mall, Pohatcong Township police said. The cards had allegedly been altered with the suspects' names, but the accounts still belonged to other people.
Police said they were alerted Thursday afternoon by mall security and a patrol pursued them through the Parkside section of town, eventually apprehending them when the vehicle turned down a dead end, police said.
Darnell J. Johnson, 32, of Brooklyn, is charged with two counts of forgery, one count each of theft by deception and fraudulent use of a credit card.
Jayquran K. Hazel, 24, of the Bronx, is charged with two counts of forgery and one count of fraudulent use of a credit card.

Bail information was not immediately available.
A third man who was driving the car is charged with several motor vehicle violations. Police did not identify him in a news release.
