The driver of the other vehicle was killed, authorities say.
A Phillipsburg school bus was involved in a deadly two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in Greenwich Township.
The driver of the second vehicle was killed in the wreck just before 3 p.m. on the Route 173 overpass, where Interstate 78 connects, Greenwich police Chief Richard Hummer confirmed at the scene.
Students were still on the bus, and other buses were brought in to bring them to Greenwich Elementary School, the chief said. No students are believed to have suffered serious injuries.
Phillipsburg School District Superintendent George Chando said the bus was contracted by the Greenwich school district and was transporting high school students.
The bus was on the southbound shoulder, its front smashed. In front of it was a light blue car that authorities covered in a tarp. Glass and debris strewn around.
The victim will not be identified until their family is notified, Hummer said.
Route 173 was closed in both directions around the I-78 interchange.
