The teen from Washington also allegedly gave police a false name.
A loudspeaker playing blaring music with an attached microphone led Hackettstown police to charge a teenager walking down the street.
Officers at 1:12 a.m. Friday were dispatched to Grand Avenue and Washington Street for a noise complaint. When officers arrived, they found three girls walking in the area -- with one holding the loudspeaker and another carrying the attached microphone, police said.
The teen carrying the loudspeaker, later identified as 19-year-old Ashley Bierbaum of Washington, Warren County, initially provided officers with a false identification, according to police.
Bierbaum is charged with hindering and a noise violation. She was released pending a court appearance.
