The youth was hurt during a school trip to the Warren County park.
A Warren County township and school are among the defendants in a family's lawsuit over a child's playground injury.
The boy was hurt by a sharp edges lining the bottom of playground equipment during a school field trip in June 2014 at Meadow Breeze Park in Washington Township, according to the suit filed this month by his parents, Karen and Clyde Adam, of Franklin Township.
The injury happened as the boy -- on his 10th birthday -- caught his head going under a bridge between two play areas, said the Adams' attorney, James Pfeiffer. The youth has a permanent, 4- to 5-inch scar on top of his head, Pfeiffer said.
Named as defendants are Alabama-based playground equipment manufacturer GameTime Inc. and its parent company, Tennessee-based PlayCore Inc.; Washington Township; and the Franklin Township school district.
The lawsuit, filed Sept. 2, accuses all defendants of negligence and seeks unspecified damages.
Company representatives, the township administrator and the school superintendent did not return calls for comment Friday.
"As far as I know," Pfeiffer said, "they still haven't fixed this condition. It's a danger to other children, which is frightening."
