Visitors will meet some very lucky horses. Almost all were rescued from starvation, cruelty, or being sent to slaughter. Now they know the best of care in a loving environment.
Appaloosas and Thoroughbreds, draft horses and minis, youngsters and old-timers are all ready to meet visitors at Mylestone's biggest fundraiser, a once-a-year event where the private farm is open to the public. Read the horses' inspiring stories, place a few bids in a terrific silent auction, and enjoy goodies at their now-famous bake sale. There will be vendors of all kinds, Mylestone merchandise, and more.
There is no admission fee to the Open House, but each guest is asked to brings a can of soup to feed hungry people in surrounding communities.
The open house runs from noon to 4 p.m. with a rain date the following Sunday, Oct. 16.
