The 30-year-old from Warren County is charged with criminal mischief.
A Hackettstown Medical Center patient ransacked a room, then ran from police who wanted to cuff him, police said.
Michael Pelliccio, 30, of Mansfield Township, smashed the wall and door of a hospital room with a chair, police said. He allegedly flipped over medical beds in the room.
When police arrived at 1:19 a.m. Friday, he allegedly ran down the hall. He flailed his arms and tried pulling away as an officer cuffed him, police said.
Pelliccio is charged with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He was released pending a court appearance.
The hospital is at 651 Willow Grove St.
