The 59-year-old allegedly passed a bad check at Baker Federal Credit Union on Oct. 3.
A Phillipsburg man made off with $6,800 after passing a bad check at a Lopatcong Township local credit union, police said.
Police said Donald Lanning, 59, deposited the bad check on Aug. 1 at Baker Federal Credit Union and subsequently withdrew the funds.
The resident of Mill Street was charged with theft on Oct. 3.
He was released on his own recognizance pending a Superior Court appearance in Belvidere.
