The e-cigarette theft was caught on video, Hackettstown police say.
An employee at a Hackettstown QuickChek was caught on camera smuggling e-cigarette materials from the convenience store, according to town police.
Authorities were called to the Mountain Avenue store on Oct. 28, and allegedly determined that 51-year-old Alicen Johnson, of Mansfield Township, had taken a Haus vapor starter kit and berry-flavored vapor about two weeks earlier. The items are worth about $35, police said.
Johnson was allegedly seen on video putting the merchandise in a bag and leaving the store.
On Tuesday, she was charged with theft by unlawful taking and released pending a court appearance.
