A 60-year-old Washington man driving a First Student school bus Friday morning crashed into the rear of a pickup truck that was stopped on Route 31 in Washington Township to make a left turn at Rymon Road, township police report.
The northbound Dodge Ram truck, driven by Robert Hill, 56, of Morris Plains, New Jersey, and the bus, driven by Joseph Matarazzo, entered the southbound lane and a Saturn driven by Kristen Kenny, 42, of Washington, was struck, Lt. John Kaufmann said. A southbound Infinity, driven by Jessica Groff, 33, of Washington, was also drawn into the crash, Kaufmann said.
A utility pole and a decorative shed were damaged in the wreck, which happened at 6:23 a.m., Kaufmann said. No students were on the bus.
Kenny and Hill suffered minor injuries and were taken to St. Luke's Hospital in Phillipsburg, Kaufmann said.
The road was shut until about 8:50 a.m.
As of noon Friday, no one had been cited and the investigation was continuing, police said.
