The former North Warren schools chief is accused of crimes 40 years ago in Nova Scotia.
One of two Canadian trials involving sex crime allegations against a former Warren County schools superintendent has been delayed.

(NJ Advance Media file photo)Brian Fogelson -- the 2015 Warren County Superintendent of the Year who retired that June from the North Warren Regional School District -- was charged by Canadian authorities in May 2015 based on allegations dating between 1975 and 1978, when he taught music in Nova Scotia to students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
The investigation began in 2012 when the first accuser went to police. A second accuser came forward in 2015.
The trial based on the second accuser -- in which Fogelson is charged with indecent assault and gross indecency on another male -- was scheduled to begin in Nova Scotia's Provincial Court on Wednesday. Fogelson on Tuesday requested and was granted an adjournment, said Chris Hansen, the communications director for the province's public prosecution service.
A new trial date is to be set in a Feb. 1 hearing, she said.

A separate trial based on the first accuser's claims -- in which Fogelson is charged with indecent assault on a male, gross indecency with a male and sodomy -- is still scheduled to begin March 13 and last two days, Hansen said.
Fogelson was an administrator at Catasauqua High School and Delaware Valley Regional High School before going to North Warren.
He lived in Blairstown Township while at North Warren. Fogelson moved to Venice, Fla., upon his retirement.
