CLINTON TWP. - A Center Street restaurant reported receiving two counterfeit $50 bills between 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, police said.

The restaurant, notified of the counterfeit bills after being contacted by its bank following a deposit, reported it to police at around 6:20 p.m. on Monday, police said.

The name of the restaurant was not released and there have been no other reports of counterfeit money being passed in the township as of Friday.

During the summer of 2013, township police reported at least four businesses on Route 31 between Center and West Main streets had received counterfeit money from a customer. The counterfeit money was passed between June 16 and Aug. 17. No arrests were made.
