The college plans a Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event as well as the showing of several short films on the topic.
Centenary College will be observing Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October by hosting a Sexual Assault Prevention Film Festival as well as the annual Walk A Mile In Her Shoes Rally to promote awareness about this widespread issue and for domestic violence survivors.
On Oct. 27, Centenary's Students Taking on Prevention (STOP) Team will host "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes," the international men's march to stop rape, sexual assault and gender violence. The walk is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. outside of the cafeteria. All are welcome as Centenary men take a stand against sexual violence by marching in high-heeled shoes.
Centenary students and student groups will be showcasing their talents in short films on the topic of Sexual Assault Prevention on 9 p.m. Nov.11, in the Little Theatre. Centenary's community partner Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault Crisis Center of Warren County will deliver remarks and collect donations to benefit DASACC and their efforts.
