WASHINGTON TWP. - Route 31 is closed in the area of Asbury Anderson Road on Monday following an accident involving a garbage truck and a vehicle, according to police and the state Department of Transportation.
The accident, reported just after 4 p.m., happened near the borders of Hunterdon and Warren counties. Route 31 remained closed because of an investigation and cleanup of a fuel spill as of 6:10 p.m.
Delays of up to 10 minutes was being reported, according to the DOT. No information on injuries was available on Monday afternoon. Several ambulances from Hunterdon County rescue squads did respond to the scene.
