The 43-year-old quit at DeVoe Funeral Service Inc. before being linked to the theft.
A 43-year-old Warren County woman allegedly stole about $12,000 from DeVoe Funeral Service Inc. while working there.
Cassandra Mohan was arrested Wednesday by Washington Township police, according to a news release.
Mohan, whose address is listed only as Stewartsville in the release, stole the money between March 2015 and October 2016, according to police.
Police had responded Feb. 6 to the funeral home at 136 W. Washington Ave. in Washington for a reported theft, and detectives linked her to the crime, according to the release.
Mohan was charged with theft by unlawful taking, processed and released with a mandatory court date.
She could not be reached for comment Wednesday night. A number listed for her was no longer her number.

Mark DeVoe, owner, president and managing director of the funeral home, said Wednesday night Mohan had resigned as an employee before her crime came to light.
"We were very hurt," he said, "because we considered her a very good friend and part of the family."
The funeral home marked its 100th year of business in November 2015.
