The day of events continues into the early morning.
This year's march against cancer in Phillipsburg stepped off Saturday morning and continues through early Sunday.
The 2017 Relay for Life runs through 2 a.m. at Maloney Stadium, and includes the usual features of the events held nationwide to benefit the American Cancer Society -- those who have been affected by cancer were recognized, and survivors took the first lap. A luminaria ceremony is planned for after dark.

Also this year, volunteers with Elizabethtown Gas stuffed a minivan full of supplies such as toiletries and first-aid kits to help cancer patients and their caregivers at one of the ACA's Hope Lodge locations.
