One driver was cited for careless driving.
One motorist was still hospitalized Saturday after a three-vehicle crash a day prior in Hackettstown, which town police said was caused by a careless driving.
Denon Rogers, 27, of the town, was cited for the accident that happened 9:43 a.m. Friday on County Route 604 near Waterloo Valley Road, police said in a news release Saturday. A 5-plus-mile stretch of Route 604 was closed for two hours after the crash.
Rogers was heading south when he crashed into a stopped vehicle, pushing it into a dump truck in front of it that waiting to turn, police said.
Emergency responders had to cut free the driver of the middle vehicle, 38-year-old Nicholas Cardone III, of Stanhope, who was flown to Morristown Medical Center. His condition had stabilized as of Saturday morning, police said.
No other injuries were reported.
