The Warren Hills Regional High School football team defeated rival Hackettstown 14-7 on Friday night in the 90th meeting between the schools at Chot Morrison Field in Hackettstown. The Blue Streaks now lead the series 44-41. There has been five ties.
Turning point: After a holding penalty gave Warren Hills a first-and-22 at Hackettstown's 31, Blue Streaks quarterback Jake Carter passed over the middle to a wide open Buster Bamford for a touchdown.
Top performers: Carter passed for 131 yards including the touchdown to Bamford. Wideout Carsen Johnson caught 6 passes for 87 yards and Yajaha Banks ran 40 yards for the Blue Streaks' other score.
What it means: The win enabled Warren Hills to qualify for the NJSIAA North 1 Group 4 playoffs. Hackettstown had already qualified for the North 2 Group 2 tournament before Friday's game.
