A pair of tractor-trailers owned by the same company collided Wednesday along Route 57 in Greenwich Township
There were no reported injuries when a pair of tractor-trailers owned by the same company collided Wednesday along Route 57 in Greenwich Township.
Police say the 8:46 a.m. collision occurred when a car changed lanes and stopped short in front of a tractor-trailer traveling westbound. The truck driver, police say, had feared he couldn't stop in time and traveled off the road to the right to avoid rear-ending the car.
When the male driver veered off to the right, his brakes locked up and another tractor-trailer rear-ended his truck, police said.
Police did not have the names of the drivers readily available, but said both male drivers were over 40 years old and worked for Harmony Township-based Frank Santini Trucking.
One of the tractor-trailers leaked antifreeze, which led authorities reducing Route 57 to one lane while crews worked to clean up the highway. One of the trucks was towed from the scene and the driver without a truck drove off with the other truck driver, police said.
Multiple units responded, including Stewartsville Fire Department and Greenwich Township police.
