A rollover crash Monday afternoon on Interstate 78 in Warren County sent the driver to an area hospital with complaints of neck and back pain, according to New Jersey State Police.



A rollover crash Monday afternoon on Interstate 78 in Warren County sent the driver to an area hospital with complaints of neck and back pain, according to New Jersey State Police.


The crash was reported about 3:50 p.m. on I-78 West near mile-marker 4.8 in Greenwich Township, state police spokesman Sgt. First Class Gregory Williams said.

According to the preliminary investigation, the male driver reported he was in the left lane when another vehicle, in the middle lane, tried to merge into the left lane, Williams said.


The left-lane driver lost control and hit a snow bank along the highway, causing the SUV to roll onto its passenger side.

The driver was taken by ambulance to St. Luke's University Hospital in Fountain Hill, police said. Police did not immediately identify the driver, citing the ongoing investigation into the crash. There were no passengers in the vehicle.


Authorities closed the left lane of I-78 West until shortly before 4:40 p.m. for the investigation and cleanup, police said.
