Rescuers were called to a crash on Interstate 78 in Warren County about 6:30 p.m. Monday.
It happened near Exit 4 in the westbound lanes in Greenwich Township, authorities said.
Initial reports described it as a rollover crash with a passenger thrown from the vehicle. A medical helicopter was called.
Two westbound lanes were closed with traffic delays estimated at 10 to 15 minutes as of 6:45 p.m., officials said. Traffic was still moving but slowed in the two other westbound lanes.
Photos from the scene showed a car on its wheels and crumpled along the highway shoulder at the New Village Road overpass.
