The prosecutor's 60-person staff moved in to the refitted building about six months prior.

Strong winds damaged the Warren County Prosecutor's Office but have not disrupted the business within.

A portion of the roof on the Courthouse Annex in Belvidere got rolled up in Sunday's gusts, some of which topped 40 mph.

Firefighters and county workers were able to temporarily patch the roof and the prosecutor's staff of about 60 returned to work Monday without any problems, Prosecutor Richard Burke said.

"They did a good job," Burke said Tuesday. "They were working all afternoon."

Burke said there was no sign of damage inside the building.

The prosecutor's office consolidated in the annex last fall after the county refitted the building, next door to the Warren County Court House, for $4.3 million. It had previously served as the county's library headquarters.

The original section of the annex dates back to the 1800s.
