Four Warren County Community College students will represent the college at a competition in St. Louis in July.
For the fourth time in the past few years, Warren County Community College will be represented at the Mu Alpha Theta National Convention and Mathematics Competition, this year scheduled for St. Louis July 10-15 at Washington University.
Rebecca Lambert of Asbury, Stasha Heinrich, of Oxford, Erica Ward, of Bangor, Pa., and Zaint Canlapan, from Greenwich Township, will look to continue the success of WCCC in this competition which has seen Warren take several top honors over the years.
Mu Alpha Theta is the national mathematics honor society for high schools and two-year colleges. WCCC's chapter of Mu Alpha Theta has previously competed in three national mathematics competitions.
The first time was in 2010 in Washington, DC. The team earned 15th place trophies in the Theta Gemini Competition. The next year the team went to Dallas and earned 12th place trophies in the Theta Gemini competition. In 2012, WCCC competed in Boston where it took home 13th place trophies in the Alpha Gemini Competition and a 6th place trophy in the Alpha Chalk Talk Competition.
