The driver was hospitalized after the accident.
A driver was talking on their cellphone before crashing into a tree late Friday in Franklin Township, according to New Jersey State Police.
The crash occurred about 11:30 p.m. on Stewartsville Road. The Volkswagen Jetta also apparently struck a signpost and fence.
The driver, whom state police did not identify, was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in Phillipsburg for treatment of unspecified injuries.
