A driver stopped at a bank drive-through was struck by another motorist who backed out and then, fled the scene, Hackettstown
Darious Samsingh of Maryland at 1:14 p.m. Saturday was at Chase Bank, 227 Route 182, when he allegedly struck a 2009 Honda being driven by Patricia Roehrich of Washington Township, Morris County, with his 2004 Honda.
An officer at the scene later stopped Samsingh and reported the odor of marijuana was present. Samsingh allegedly told police he "heard someone honking, but was unaware he struck the other vehicle."
Police searched Samsingh's vehicle and seized a bag of marijuana and a marijuana cigarette. Makena Maehara, 21, of Florida, a passenger in Samsingh's vehicle, also was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Samsingh also received summonses for possession of controlled dangerous substances in a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident.
Both were released pending court appearances.
