A suspicious man was found driving a van through a Mansfield Township neighborhood and slowly stopping in front of various homes, police said.

Police just after 10 a.m. Tuesday found the van driven by Gorgonio Duarte Avila, 64, of Fairview, N.J., along Rockport Road. Police said Avila initially provided an officer with a false name and birth date.

He was found to have a suspended driver's license and 10 active warrants containing various aliases, police said.

The warrants included Ridgefield Borough for $1,035, Palisades Park for $800, Teaneck for $500, Alpine for $500 and Paterson for $850. Avila was charged with providing false information, careless driving and driving with a suspended license.

Avila was taken to Warren County jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.
