A Hackettstown High School official allegedly had to jump on the hood to avoid being hit.
A carload of out-of-towners nearly ran over a Hackettstown school official after they were caught drinking and smoking marijuana in the high school parking lot, according to town police.
The group of four had apparently been looking for the town pool on Monday afternoon, but found it was closed and went to the high school parking lot instead, police said in a news release.
When police arrived just before 3:30 p.m., a school official was seen jumping on the hood of the group's car to avoid being hit, Sgt. Darren Tynan said.
