A grand jury indicted them on a child endangerment charge.
Two Phillipsburg residents have been indicted for alleged child endangerment after injecting cocaine with a 1-year-old nearby.
After using the drug Aug. 23, Nery Lopez, 24, and Monica Cartagena, 30, left a used needle filled with blood within the child's reach, according to the indictment returned by a Warren County grand jury this week.
The county prosecutor's office said both share a home in the first block of Hanover Street. Both remain in the county jail.

Cartagena, who was the county's fugitive of the week Sept. 2, was arrested later that month in Easton after being pulled over by police.
The second-degree child endangerment charge typically carries a maximum possible sentence of 10 years in state prison.
