Injuries were reported in the Wednesday morning crash in Warren County.

A crash was reported early Wednesday morning on Route 22 in Lopatcong Township.

The wreck happened just before 6 a.m. at South First Street, the Warren County Department of Public Safety said.

Emergency dispatches said there were injuries.

MORE: Crash, separate vehicle fire

It wasn't immediately clear how many vehicles were involved. A light rain was falling and roads were wet.

A traffic signal was still not operating at that hour, not far away on the highway east of Roseberry Street. Authorities closed the westbound right and middle lanes following an incident late Tuesday night, the New Jersey Department of Transportation said.

The crash was cleared about 6:40 a.m. and lanes were reopened in both directions, dispatches and the department of public safety report.

But the DOT and the county at 6:50 a.m. showed lanes still shut by the inoperable traffic light. That restriction wasn't cleared until 11:20 a.m., the DOT said.
