A 26-year-old Independence Township woman is facing various charges after police found heroin and other drugs during a traffic stop.
Alexis K. Martone was stopped at 2:21 p.m. Dec. 26 for an alleged equipment violation in Mansfield Township.
An officer found inside the vehicle under 50 grams of marijuana and Xanax, a prescription drug used to treat anxiety and panic disorder, as well as drug paraphernalia, police said.
Martone was placed under arrest and a female police matron was called to search her. The female officer found heroin in the pocket of Martone's pants, according to police.
Martone is charged with possession of heroin, Xanax, under 50 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She was released pending a court appearance.
