UPDATE: Warren County power outage gets far worse after improving
More than 1,700 JCP&L customers lost power early Monday morning, mostly in Lopatcong Township, a company spokesman said.
By replacing fuses on poles, the power company got 518 customers back on by 3:25 a.m. and another 349 as of 5:45 a.m., the spokesman said.
The final 835 -- 822 in Lopatcong and 13 in Phillipsburg -- should be restored in an hour or two, the spokesman said. As of 8:38 a.m., another 111 customers in Lopatcong Township had power, the outage site said.

The utility later projected power would be back on by 1 p.m., but then delayed completion in Lopatcong until 2:30 p.m.
It wasn't immediately clear what knocked out the power, the spokesman said.
The incident began at 1:50 a.m., the spokesman said.
