David W. Shannon had sex with a girl between 1983 and 1987, and molested a mentally disabled girl in August, according to two criminal complaints.
A 66-year-old Palmer Township man has been charged in two Warren County sex assault cases separated by more than 30 years.
David W. Shannon, whose last known address is listed in the 2700 block of Stephens Avenue, is accused of having sex with a child between 1983 and 1987, when the girl was between 8 and 12 years old, according to a criminal complaint filed in New Jersey Superior Court in Belvidere.
He also molested a girl with a mental disability who was less than 18 years old on or about Aug. 18 of this year, according to a separate complaint. Both crimes allegedly occurred in Washington.
Shannon appeared in court on the older case Monday, following an appearance last week on the more recent one.
In the 1983 case, Shannon is charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault. In the other one, he is charged with one count each of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual contact, criminal sexual contact, sexual conduct that would debauch the morals of a child and exposing himself to a person with a mental disability.
He was sent to the Warren County jail in lieu of $150,000 bail.
Shannon was a Warren County fugitive of the week last month, wanted on a warrant issued in May.
